PROJECT ARMS - X ARMIES

The X-Army is one of the elite experimental combat units developed by the shadowy organization known as Egrigori. But behind the scenes, they were never meant to be a final product — they were prototypes, created to explore the limits of human evolution through genetic engineering. The goal was to design future generations of super soldiers with abilities similar to those seen in the X-Army.

From the data collected through the X-Army's operations, Egrigori developed the Red Caps — ruthless, manufactured soldiers who inherited many of the X-Army's powers, but none of their humanity.

The X-Army was one of three major superhuman military programs funded by Egrigori:

  1. The Cyborg Program – Enhanced humans with robotic implants and synthetic upgrades.

  2. The X-Army Program – Genetically altered subjects, enhanced at the embryo stage to awaken dormant human potential like telepathy, telekinesis, and regeneration.

  3. The ARMS Project – A fusion of flesh and machine via nanotechnology, creating beings that blur the line between biology and weapon.

Yugo – The “Angel” of the X-Army

Yugo, known affectionately by her codename “Angel,” is one of the most powerful and emotionally complex members of the X-Army. Born with immense telepathic abilities, she was raised alongside her brother, Cliff, in a secret Egrigori research facility where gifted children were experimented on. Despite being a subject of cruel tests and surveillance, Yugo retained her compassion and emotional depth—traits that would ultimately set her apart from the rest of the X-Army.

Eventually, Yugo and a few others managed to escape the facility and sought refuge in Japan. Initially, her motivations were unclear—she and her companions attacked the ARMS teens in an attempt to demonstrate their worth to Egrigori. But as the battle lines shifted and Egrigori emerged as a mutual threat, Yugo joined forces with the ARMS, fighting not only for survival but for justice.

Though she secretly harbored feelings for Ryo Takatsuki, she respected his devotion to Katsumi and never tried to interfere. Yugo’s love was quiet, selfless, and ultimately tragic.

Yugo Gilbert is a powerful telepath

  • Telepathy – She can both read and transmit thoughts, detect lies, suppress memories, and communicate across long distances.

  • Mind Control – Capable of seizing control over multiple minds at once, she once dominated four Red Cap subjects whose mental faculties were already destroyed by failed experiments. Her control was so absolute that she began to physically mimic their pain and injuries.

  • Astral Projection – Yugo can project her consciousness onto the astral plane, allowing her to scout, spy, or travel vast distances in spiritual form. She can also use this form in the physical world, making her incredibly difficult to detect.

Despite her strength, Yugo cannot read the minds of those trained to resist telepathy, individuals acting purely on instinct, or other high-level psychics.

At the climax of the story, when Ryo is overtaken by the monstrous Jabberwock, Yugo fulfills her vow. She launches a final mental assault that breaks through Jabberwock’s hold, freeing Ryo. In her last breath, she confesses her love for him before dying from the immense psychic strain. She is buried in Japan beneath a gravestone inscribed:

"Here lies the girl they called an Angel. She remains forever in our hearts."

Cliff Gilbert – The “Demon King”

Cliff, leader of the X-Army and brother to Yugo, is known as the “Demon King.” Though originally believed to be the stronger telepath between the two, years of mental and physical abuse at the Egrigori lab twisted his development. Instead of unlocking telepathy, Cliff’s trauma ignited a terrifying form of psychokinesis, turning him into a destructive force capable of moving matter with his mind.

His abilities are vast and precise:

  • Telekinesis – Cliff can manipulate objects—organic or inorganic—regardless of size, weight, or composition. He uses this power to fly, hurl enemies, tear structures apart, and crush internal organs without lifting a finger.

  • Force Fields – He can erect barriers of psionic energy to shield himself or others from attacks.

  • Kinetic Blasts – Cliff can release devastating shockwaves of telekinetic force capable of leveling entire battlefields.

However, his only limitation is that he can only affect what he can see—a vulnerability exploited by his enemies.

Driven by a need to validate his existence and prove the superiority of the X-Army, Cliff orchestrates the capture of three of the four ARMS teens to bait Ryo into battle. He attempts multiple times to provoke the Jabberwock into surfacing within Ryo, even using Yugo’s powers to force Ryo to relive Katsumi’s “death.” In their final confrontation, Cliff nearly defeats Jabberwock, but the creature evolves a resistance to his telekinetic attacks and mauls him.

Despite his injuries, Cliff fights one last time during the Red Caps’ ambush. He faces off against Keith Red in his terrifying Gryphon form, but is no match. With the entire lower half of his body obliterated, he still holds on long enough to say goodbye to Yugo and Carol.

Carol – The “Twister”

Carol, the youngest and perhaps most emotionally volatile member of the X-Army, is known as “Twister.” Gifted with a potent strain of psychokinesis, her abilities are violent, surgical, and devastating:

  • She can twist, bend, or snap anything—steel beams, bones, or entire vehicles.

  • She uses this power in combat with terrifying precision, able to cripple foes in seconds.

Carol battles Ryo and nearly pushes him to unleash Jabberwock, but his refusal to fight her out of respect shocks her. Her encounter with Ryo changes her outlook, and she begins to question the X-Army’s mission. She grows to care for him, and later warns him not to confront Cliff, fearing it will kill him.

During the Red Caps’ invasion of Aisora City, Carol helps evacuate civilians alongside Hayato and Juzo. Afterward, she is entrusted to the care of the Bluemen, who find her a family. Yugo’s last wish for her is to live a happy life.

In the series' epilogue, Carol is seen living peacefully with Hayato, his grandfather, and Al—whom she appears to have developed feelings for.

Volf – The Living Weapon

Volf is a hulking, musclebound warrior genetically engineered to mimic the regenerative properties of cancer cells. Though his vanity and effeminate mannerisms make him an odd figure, he is undeniably dangerous.

  • Cellular Regeneration – His body heals from virtually any injury, regrowing limbs and recovering from fatal wounds in seconds.

  • Weakness – Despite this, he is vulnerable to attacks targeting the nervous system, balance, and equilibrium.

Ryo exploits this flaw in battle by targeting Volf’s head and sensory organs. Eventually, he subdues Volf with a chokehold. Tragically, Volf is ambushed by the Red Caps during the escape from Aisora City and is gruesomely executed—his body strung up alongside Kyklops as a message.

Kyklops - The Silent Executioner

Kyklops, a mute assassin raised in the Egrigori labs, is a master of death. Armed with two high-frequency vibration knives capable of slicing through ARMS like butter, he is unmatched in close-quarters combat.

His enhancements include:

  • Omni-Vision – Kyklops can see across the full electromagnetic spectrum, including infrared, UV, X-ray, and gamma. He can spot enemies through walls or in pitch-black darkness.

  • Heat Vision – He can project focused light beams that ignite anything he sees.

  • Weakness – Mirrors distort and reflect light, making them his only blind spot. Extended use of his heat vision also severely damages his eyes.

During his battle with Ryo, he nearly forces the release of Jabberwock, but Ryo resists. Kyklops is later ambushed alongside Volf and meets the same brutal fate at the hands of the Red Caps

Irroian

Prologue: The Adventure Begins

Amon Labao, the matriarch of the planet Igbao in the galaxy Harraio, orders her subjects to conduct extensive experiments upon humans, their first being the abducted Ruth Abelgas. However, one scientist, Irroian, aids in her escape, and the pair fall in love, leading to Ruth giving birth to Eskappar.

When the Council determines that Ruth must be executed, Irroian seeks the help of his friend Agaddon in returning her to Earth, but a Council spy named Maraam learns that Ruth is with Irroian and arrests him. Meanwhile, Agaddon escapes with Ruth to Earth, and is determined by the Council to be the "actual" traitor.

Once released, Irroian continues to raise Eskappar in Harraio, but because Eskappar assumes human form, Irroian eventually attempts to escape with him to Earth for fear for his son's life. Irroian is shot by Maraam's guards during the attempt, but he manages to send Eskappar to Earth with Butao, a robot containing a recording of Irroian with instructions for Eskappar to search for Ruth.

After Eskappar lands on Earth, he sees a man, Caloy, and follows him. However, when Caloy falls into a surging river, Eskappar uses his elasticity to save Caloy's life. Caloy eventually assumes that Eskappar is a lost foreigner, and takes him home, where he names him "Miguel" and raises him. Several years later, Miguel witnesses the death of his foster father, and decides to become Lastikman.

Inuyasha episode 34

In Episode 34 of Inuyasha, Tōtōsai, the swordsmith who created the legendary Tessaiga, visits Inuyasha to determine if he is worthy of wielding the blade. Tōtōsai expresses doubt in Inuyasha’s skills, noting the sword’s blunted state, and suggests that Inuyasha could misuse it. At the same time, Inuyasha’s half-brother, Sesshōmaru, approaches Tōtōsai, demanding that he forge him a new weapon. Tōtōsai refuses, explaining that Sesshōmaru already possesses a powerful blade, Tenseiga, which has the unique ability to revive the dead. Sesshōmaru, however, despises Tenseiga, as it is not a weapon meant to kill.

Sesshōmaru confronts Inuyasha, triggering a battle between the brothers. Tōtōsai, observing the fight, remarks on Inuyasha’s lack of skill but ultimately decides to support him. During the fight, Tōtōsai uses his fire-breathing powers to create a sea of lava, forcing Sesshōmaru to retreat temporarily. Later, Tōtōsai explains to Inuyasha and his friends that Tenseiga was crafted to save lives, but Sesshōmaru disregards this purpose, as he is uninterested in humans.

Sesshōmaru later realizes Tenseiga’s power when he inadvertently revives Jaken. While pondering how to best claim Tessaiga, Sesshōmaru encounters a dragon and slays it, gathering a claw to aid in his goal. Tōtōsai, still questioning Inuyasha’s control over Tessaiga, ultimately decides to let him continue wielding the sword, albeit with reservations about his ability to master it fully.

The yōkai who forged Tessaiga, Tōtōsai, tracks down Inuyasha to see if he is truly worthy of wielding such a weapon.

Sesshōmaru asks Tōtōsai to forge a blade for him, but he refuses.

Tōtōsai reveals that he forged the sword that Sesshōmaru already owns, the Tenseiga; this sword was also forged from the fang of Tōga.

Sesshōmaru despises Tenseiga, as it is a blade that cannot cut; the sword's true power is the ability to revive souls that have died.

Myōga tells the swordsmith who forged the Tessaiga, Tōtōsai on a demon bull of Inuyasha's worthiness of Inuyasha as wielder of the sword. Tōtōsai does not want to believe that and says that Inuyasha cannot actually have earned the sword because he can no longer use the technique, but goes to see Inuyasha.

Jaken comes to a large skull that once served as Tōtōsai's home. Tōtōsai, however, ran away because Sesshōmaru wanted Tōtōsai to make a sword for him and Tōtōsai was afraid to turn down this wish. When Sesshōmaru is informed of this, he simply walks away.

On the road, Kagome blames herself for the fact that Kikyō stole the shards of the Sacred Jewel from her so easily. In a flashback, Kikyō takes Kagome's Sacred Jewel fragments. Inuyasha tells Kagome to not worry about it as it wasn't all there is of the Sacred Jewel and they'll just start collecting them one by one again. Sango asks Miroku why is Inuyasha being so understanding as it is so unlike him. Miroku says that the one who stole the Sacred Jewel fragments was Kikyō. Shippō says it was a crime committed by the woman Inuyasha is in love with. Inuyasha becomes annoyed and asks are implying that he's trying to defend Kikyō then looks at Kagome and questions does she thinks that too. Kagome moves away from Inuyasha. Inuyasha asks Kagome if she has any complaints then speak up.

Inuyasha vs Sesshomaru Ep34

Then they hear the mooing of a cow and Tōtōsai comes flying. Without much preamble he attacks Inuyasha with his gigantic blacksmith hammer and when he meets Tessaiga there is a sound that the armorer does not like and he says again that Inuyasha should not have the sword. This makes Inuyasha angry and he attacks, but Tōtōsai can ward off the blow with a piece of leather, as Tessaiga has become enormously blunt over time. Then Tōtōsai says that he wants Tessaiga to break it before Inuyasha does something stupid with it, but Inuyasha doesn’t like that at all and he threatens the blacksmith with Tessaiga. Myōga, that Tōtōsai could teach the Hanyō how to use Tessaiga. Then Tōtōsai unpacks that "a madman" has also ordered a sword that Tessaiga is the same and will kill him if he doesn't make it, so Inuyasha should protect him. When he describes the "madman", the others realize that it is Inuyasha's older brother Sesshōmaru. Then Sesshōmaru comes over on A-Un and they explain Sango very briefly who that actually is. Then Sesshōmaru wants to kill Tōtōsai and Tōtōsai wants to immediately go over to Sesshōmaru's side, since like Myōga he is neither brave nor loyal. Tōtōsai says that if Sesshōmaru kills his brother, he will forge a sword and then the fight will start. Inuyasha is once again too slow in the fight and is knocked to the ground by Sesshōmaru. Tōtōsai doesn't like Inuyasha's fighting skills at all, but Kagome says he always wins. Sesshōmaru says that Tessaiga is not used properly in Inuyasha's hands where Tōtōsai agrees, but then the Hanyō strikes himself up again and attacks his brother again. Sesshōmaru asks one last time if he will get his sword, but Tōtōsai suddenly blows fire out of his mouth and says, Tōga's, Tenseiga. The brothers' father had stipulated that Sesshōmaru received Tenseiga and Inuyasha Tessaiga, but Sesshōmaru said it was useless. When Tōtōsai turns the ground into a sea of lava, Sesshōmaru disappears, but he wants to come back.

When Tōtōsai flies away with the others, he says that Tenseiga is a very strong sword, but it doesn't cut. However, if the owner really wants to save a person, he can revive him with Tenseiga. Tōtōsai does not understand that Tōga distributed the swords this way and not otherwise, since Sesshōmaru wants nothing to do with humans.

Jaken asks Sesshōmaru about Tenseiga's powers and Sesshōmaru says that he will be happy to demonstrate it to him and hits him with Tenseiga. What he did not expect himself, however, is that he will simply get up again afterwards without an injury, because Tenseiga is blunt. Then a dragon comes out of the swamp in the area and Sesshōmaru kills him. When he sees the claw lying there, he makes a plan to conquer Tessaiga.

Inuyasha vs Sesshomaru Ep34

When Tōtōsai wants the sword back because he says that Tessaiga cannot do anything, but he only gets a bump and flies away. After a few minutes he comes back on the run from Sesshōmaru, Inuyasha goes after his brother and he starts to fight with the dragon's claw. He says that the Hanyō has no chance if he doesn't finally learn to use Tessaiga.
