Inuyasha episode 34

In Episode 34 of Inuyasha, Tōtōsai, the swordsmith who created the legendary Tessaiga, visits Inuyasha to determine if he is worthy of wielding the blade. Tōtōsai expresses doubt in Inuyasha’s skills, noting the sword’s blunted state, and suggests that Inuyasha could misuse it. At the same time, Inuyasha’s half-brother, Sesshōmaru, approaches Tōtōsai, demanding that he forge him a new weapon. Tōtōsai refuses, explaining that Sesshōmaru already possesses a powerful blade, Tenseiga, which has the unique ability to revive the dead. Sesshōmaru, however, despises Tenseiga, as it is not a weapon meant to kill.

Sesshōmaru confronts Inuyasha, triggering a battle between the brothers. Tōtōsai, observing the fight, remarks on Inuyasha’s lack of skill but ultimately decides to support him. During the fight, Tōtōsai uses his fire-breathing powers to create a sea of lava, forcing Sesshōmaru to retreat temporarily. Later, Tōtōsai explains to Inuyasha and his friends that Tenseiga was crafted to save lives, but Sesshōmaru disregards this purpose, as he is uninterested in humans.

Sesshōmaru later realizes Tenseiga’s power when he inadvertently revives Jaken. While pondering how to best claim Tessaiga, Sesshōmaru encounters a dragon and slays it, gathering a claw to aid in his goal. Tōtōsai, still questioning Inuyasha’s control over Tessaiga, ultimately decides to let him continue wielding the sword, albeit with reservations about his ability to master it fully.

The yōkai who forged Tessaiga, Tōtōsai, tracks down Inuyasha to see if he is truly worthy of wielding such a weapon.

Sesshōmaru asks Tōtōsai to forge a blade for him, but he refuses.

Tōtōsai reveals that he forged the sword that Sesshōmaru already owns, the Tenseiga; this sword was also forged from the fang of Tōga.

Sesshōmaru despises Tenseiga, as it is a blade that cannot cut; the sword's true power is the ability to revive souls that have died.

Myōga tells the swordsmith who forged the Tessaiga, Tōtōsai on a demon bull of Inuyasha's worthiness of Inuyasha as wielder of the sword. Tōtōsai does not want to believe that and says that Inuyasha cannot actually have earned the sword because he can no longer use the technique, but goes to see Inuyasha.

Jaken comes to a large skull that once served as Tōtōsai's home. Tōtōsai, however, ran away because Sesshōmaru wanted Tōtōsai to make a sword for him and Tōtōsai was afraid to turn down this wish. When Sesshōmaru is informed of this, he simply walks away.

On the road, Kagome blames herself for the fact that Kikyō stole the shards of the Sacred Jewel from her so easily. In a flashback, Kikyō takes Kagome's Sacred Jewel fragments. Inuyasha tells Kagome to not worry about it as it wasn't all there is of the Sacred Jewel and they'll just start collecting them one by one again. Sango asks Miroku why is Inuyasha being so understanding as it is so unlike him. Miroku says that the one who stole the Sacred Jewel fragments was Kikyō. Shippō says it was a crime committed by the woman Inuyasha is in love with. Inuyasha becomes annoyed and asks are implying that he's trying to defend Kikyō then looks at Kagome and questions does she thinks that too. Kagome moves away from Inuyasha. Inuyasha asks Kagome if she has any complaints then speak up.

Then they hear the mooing of a cow and Tōtōsai comes flying. Without much preamble he attacks Inuyasha with his gigantic blacksmith hammer and when he meets Tessaiga there is a sound that the armorer does not like and he says again that Inuyasha should not have the sword. This makes Inuyasha angry and he attacks, but Tōtōsai can ward off the blow with a piece of leather, as Tessaiga has become enormously blunt over time. Then Tōtōsai says that he wants Tessaiga to break it before Inuyasha does something stupid with it, but Inuyasha doesn’t like that at all and he threatens the blacksmith with Tessaiga. Myōga, that Tōtōsai could teach the Hanyō how to use Tessaiga. Then Tōtōsai unpacks that "a madman" has also ordered a sword that Tessaiga is the same and will kill him if he doesn't make it, so Inuyasha should protect him. When he describes the "madman", the others realize that it is Inuyasha's older brother Sesshōmaru. Then Sesshōmaru comes over on A-Un and they explain Sango very briefly who that actually is. Then Sesshōmaru wants to kill Tōtōsai and Tōtōsai wants to immediately go over to Sesshōmaru's side, since like Myōga he is neither brave nor loyal. Tōtōsai says that if Sesshōmaru kills his brother, he will forge a sword and then the fight will start. Inuyasha is once again too slow in the fight and is knocked to the ground by Sesshōmaru. Tōtōsai doesn't like Inuyasha's fighting skills at all, but Kagome says he always wins. Sesshōmaru says that Tessaiga is not used properly in Inuyasha's hands where Tōtōsai agrees, but then the Hanyō strikes himself up again and attacks his brother again. Sesshōmaru asks one last time if he will get his sword, but Tōtōsai suddenly blows fire out of his mouth and says, Tōga's, Tenseiga. The brothers' father had stipulated that Sesshōmaru received Tenseiga and Inuyasha Tessaiga, but Sesshōmaru said it was useless. When Tōtōsai turns the ground into a sea of lava, Sesshōmaru disappears, but he wants to come back.

When Tōtōsai flies away with the others, he says that Tenseiga is a very strong sword, but it doesn't cut. However, if the owner really wants to save a person, he can revive him with Tenseiga. Tōtōsai does not understand that Tōga distributed the swords this way and not otherwise, since Sesshōmaru wants nothing to do with humans.

Jaken asks Sesshōmaru about Tenseiga's powers and Sesshōmaru says that he will be happy to demonstrate it to him and hits him with Tenseiga. What he did not expect himself, however, is that he will simply get up again afterwards without an injury, because Tenseiga is blunt. Then a dragon comes out of the swamp in the area and Sesshōmaru kills him. When he sees the claw lying there, he makes a plan to conquer Tessaiga.

Inuyasha vs Sesshomaru Ep34

When Tōtōsai wants the sword back because he says that Tessaiga cannot do anything, but he only gets a bump and flies away. After a few minutes he comes back on the run from Sesshōmaru, Inuyasha goes after his brother and he starts to fight with the dragon's claw. He says that the Hanyō has no chance if he doesn't finally learn to use Tessaiga.
