To Be Hero X nice

Nice – The White-Clad Hero

Appearance
Nice is a striking superhero dressed entirely in white. He has fair skin, icy blue eyes, and platinum blonde hair that perfectly complements his all-white costume. His appearance radiates purity and heroism—an image beloved by the public.

Before Becoming Nice
Before taking on the role of Nice, Lin Ling looked quite different. He had dark brown hair, dark eyes, and a darker skin tone. His voice was also noticeably higher in pitch.

Despite these differences, Lin Ling shared a similar facial structure with the original Nice. This resemblance ultimately saved his life and earned him the opportunity to become the next Nice. As he gained the trust of the public, his appearance gradually shifted—his hair, eyes, voice, and even his build transformed to match the original. Over time, he became a near-perfect replica of the first Nice.

Personality
The personality of the original Nice remains a mystery, but Lin Ling stands out as hardworking and deeply committed to the ideals of heroism. He idolizes superheroes and even compares Moon, Nice’s girlfriend, to a goddess.

Despite being new to hero work, Lin Ling quickly proves himself. After encountering his first supervillain—who happened to be his former boss—he not only defeats him but also tries to help him emotionally during the battle, showing true compassion and heroism.

There are hints that the previous Nice struggled with mental health issues, including depression and immense stress. His tragic suicide, paired with a cryptic comment from the manager at the end of Episode 1, suggests that being Nice comes with overwhelming pressure—from both the public’s expectations and the darker realities of hero life.

Abilities

Trust: In the world of Hero X, "Trust" is the central power source. Heroes like Nice draw strength from the trust others place in them. The more trust they earn, the stronger they become. Trust even has the power to reshape a person's appearance, which is why Lin Ling began to physically resemble Nice the more the public accepted him. Eventually, he even took on his voice.
Superhuman Physicality: As Nice, Lin Ling possesses enhanced strength, speed, and durability. These traits scale with the amount of trust he receives from the public. His first battle against his former boss in Episode 1 is a prime example of this growing power.
Flight: Nice is capable of flying at incredible speeds, a trademark ability of high-ranking heroes.
Trained Combatant: Lin Ling was rigorously trained to replicate the fighting style of the original Nice. Every move, every stance—he mimics them flawlessly.
Ballet-Inspired Fighting: His fighting style incorporates ballet-like movements, combining elegance with power. This graceful yet deadly technique is seen in both his first fight and training montage.
Acting: To fully inhabit the role of Nice, Lin Ling was trained as an actor. He excels in the performance, convincingly portraying the beloved hero and even fooling Moon, Nice’s girlfriend.

Gido - Witch and the Beast

Guideau (ギド Gido) is the main protagonist of the story. She is a young "human" who travels with the high mage Ashaf in search of the witch who cursed her into her current female form.

Guideau's true form is that of a Beast and is considered the only natural enemy of witches. This form is contained within the coffin carried by Ashaf, keeping it in check. Guideau can only release it temporarily if she kisses a witch, which partially breaks the curse.

Appearance

Guideau has the appearance of a petite young woman with fair skin and long, straight blonde hair, complemented by bangs. She has thick black lashes and striking yellow eyes with vertical slit pupils. Guideau sports six piercings—three on each ear—and sharp, long fangs. Her attire is always stylish, and she changes outfits frequently.

Personality

Guideau is short-tempered, impulsive, violent, and vindictive. Her focus is singular: finding Angela, the witch who cursed her, and seeking revenge. Despite her aggressive nature, Guideau is also quite obedient to Ashaf, often complaining but still following his orders. Her relationship with Ashaf is complex, as she frequently threatens to kill him once she gets Angela to lift the curse, though they share a bond of mutual reliance.

Though her violent tendencies are strong, Guideau shows a caring side, especially when she is entrusted with the Nameless Seed, a forbidden instrument. She takes care of a young boy, alongside the Cursed Doll, until the time comes to part with him. The boy grows attached to her, a testament to Guideau's nurturing, albeit unrefined, nature.

Plot

Crimson/Sanguine Lotus City Arc

Guideau and Ashaf arrive at Sanguine Lotus train station and inquire about the Witch's whereabouts. They meet Marie, who claims to be the Witch's apprentice. Their conversation is interrupted when the station is attacked. A witch named Ione, renowned as the "Heroic Witch," appears and subdues the attacker. Guideau, agitated, tries to confront Ione but is captured. Ashaf rescues her, and they retreat.

They later visit the Witch's house, where they are greeted by Marie, who turns them away, explaining that an important event is happening. Ashaf reviews the data he requested from The Order and discovers that the event is related to the Witch’s plans.

The duo rushes to confront the Witch, but on their way out of the hotel, they are confronted by the local police who wish to arrest them for their earlier confrontation with Ione. Guideau and Ashaf quickly overpower the police and reach the Witch’s home, where Ione is preparing a ritual involving the severed limbs of several girls, including Marie. Guideau breaks through the building’s glass roof to engage Ione in a battle. Ashaf forms a protective barrier around the girls, but Ione overwhelms them.

Ione reveals that she has collected the girls as "keys" to release the hellfire that once engulfed Sanguine Lotus City. Her goal is to bring chaos and revenge for the prejudice her family faced. Guideau manages to outwit Ione and kisses her, temporarily lifting the curse. Guideau’s true form is unleashed, overpowering Ione. However, since the curse is only temporarily lifted, Guideau reverts to her female form.

Powers and Abilities

Guideau possesses a vast array of unique abilities, both in her current body and in her true form. The abilities tied to her female body stem from a curse placed upon her by a powerful witch, which keeps her in her present state.

While Guideau’s current female form is not as powerful as her original body, she is still incredibly formidable. Notably, she is unable to use any form of magic despite being in a witch’s body.

Thokk, more commonly known as Battle Beast, is a supporting character in Invincible, serving from Season 1 and onward. He is an intergalactic warrior, searching for a worthy opponent to battle and provide him with a glorious death.

Appearance

Battle Beast is a tall and powerfully built humanoid alien that closely resembles a lion. His entire body is covered in white fur, and he has French braids on both sides of his head. In terms of attire, he wears a black leotard with red shoulder pads, black arm warmers, red toeless boots, and matching gloves. Additionally, he sports a belt featuring a checkered red and yellow pattern.

Personality

Battle Beast is fundamentally a warrior whose existence is centered on the pursuit of worthy combat. He is driven by an intense desire to seek out and engage in challenging battles across the universe, constantly testing his strength against those who are equal to or superior to him. This trait is similar to that of the Viltrumites.

He is a brutal and merciless fighter, finding pleasure in combat and even offering violence as a warped form of kindness. He derives satisfaction from causing pain, as demonstrated by his unsettling enjoyment of Mark Grayson's blood. He expresses profound disappointment and frustration when facing opponents he deems weak and unworthy.

His brutal nature is tempered by a dark, sadistic humor, often revealed through a malevolent smile. He uses threats of violence as a source of amusement, such as his claim of "mercy" towards Mark. He frequently displays arrogance, belittling opponents with condescending terms. His personality is a complex blend of battle lust, sadistic amusement, and a pervasive sense of superiority.

Despite his ferocity, Battle Beast follows a personal code of honor. He chooses not to kill those he considers insignificant, viewing it as dishonorable.

After being freed by Allen, he immediately sought a worthy fight, eagerly agreeing to battle the two Viltrumites. He showed a willingness to cooperate with Allen to secure these fights and even established boundaries for engagement. He displayed intense anger when the Viltrumites were not immediately found, revealing his impatience and fervent desire for battle. He even considered Allen a worthy fight, but was pleased when he found the Viltrumites. He expressed pure joy at the prospect of fighting them, declaring that regardless of the outcome, victory or death, the battle itself would be glorious.

When he was thrown into the vacuum of space he continued his fight against the Viltrumite Executioner until he killed him by tearing him to pieces while he remained asleep in a state similar to hibernation while frozen in the vacuum of space being rescued later by two aliens waking up almost immediately wanting more fighting.

Powers

Superhuman Strength: Battle Beast possesses extraordinary strength, exceeding even that of most Viltrumites. He wields an exceptionally large mace with remarkable speed and skill, demonstrating devastating physical power. He effortlessly threw Monster Girl with immense force and just as quickly pummeled her into a critical state.
Superman Stamina and Durability: Battle Beast exhibits exceptional durability and stamina, enduring numerous attacks from the new Guardians without showing significant signs of damage. Even when faced with a Viltrumite, and sustaining some injuries, he maintains his fighting ability and determination. He willingly ceases combat only when his allies are incapacitated, not due to his own inability to continue. He survived alone in the vacuum of space frozen in a state of hibernation and woke up almost immediately after being rescued unharmed from his fight with one of Viltrum's soldiers.
Superhuman Speed and Reflex: Battle Beast has demonstrated the speed and reflexes to keep up with a Viltrumite in combat and surpass most superhumans on earth.
Superhuman Lung Capacity: Battle Beast is able to hold his breath and continue to fight a Viltrumite soldier in the vacuum of space and even enter a state of hibernation while frozen until rescued.
Claws and Fangs: Battle Beast natural weaponry is durable and sharp enough to pierce and tear the skin and flesh of Viltrumites, who are nearly invulnerable.

Mace Proficiency: Battle Beast is incredibly skilled in using his mace, pummeling foes with ease.
Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Battle Beast's combat prowess is exceptional. He demonstrates a high level of efficiency in his movements, quickly neutralizing opponents. Against foes of similar size, he is able to instantly react to their battle tactics and systematically take them down with a relentless barrage of attacks.
